EV charger installation in Woodhall Spa

The job

The customer at this property in Woodhall Spa had no dedicated way to charge their electric car at home. The only outdoor power available was a double socket, which meant the car could be put on a slow trickle charge and, realistically, only for emergency top-ups rather than everyday use. What was needed was a proper electric vehicle charge point: a dedicated, permanently wired unit fed from the property's supply and able to charge the car at a sensible rate overnight.

What we did

We looked at the existing supply arrangement and recommended a 7kW Andersen EV charger. Alongside the charging performance, the Andersen unit has a clean, understated look, which matters when the charge point is going on the front of the house. We ran the new supply in from the meter position, keeping the cable route tidy along the brickwork, then mounted the charge point on the wall beside the window. The unit was installed, connected and fully commissioned before we left, so the customer could start using it straight away. Materials used on this job: an Andersen 7kW electric vehicle charge point.

The result

The installation took around half a day, and we were able to carry out the work in the same week we quoted. The customer now has a dedicated 7kW charge point at home rather than a trickle charge from a socket, and was very pleased with the finished install. Charging is now something that happens overnight at home instead of a job that has to be planned around.
