Current Contractors Ltd looks after electrical work: installations, rewires, fault finding, EICR testing and landlord safety checks. Current Contractors Renewables, our sister company, brings high-quality solar PV, battery storage and EV charge points to homes and businesses across East Riding of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
Founder Shay Ward has been an electrician since leaving school at 16, giving him 26 years in the electrical trade. After more than a decade running a successful electrical business with a partner, Shay sold his share to concentrate on the work that matters most to him: quality electrical installations and a greener future for the region. Current Contractors Ltd launched in 2024, and Current Contractors Renewables followed in 2026.
We are a husband-and-wife business with a close-knit team: Louise runs the office, Luke, Jamie and Duncan are our experienced electricians, and Gracie and Bradley are our apprentices. Everyone shares the same standard: honest advice, quality installations and genuine care for every project.
Whatever the job, it starts with a free survey or quote and ends with a properly tested, safely connected installation. On the solar side we also provide a personalised savings estimate and help registering for the Smart Export Guarantee, with most households saving £500 to £1,200 or more each year.
